The light, without the guesswork.
All times use Europe/Lisbon, including the clock change. Golden hour here means the sun is between −4° and +6°; blue hour is −6° to −4°. Times are clear-horizon astronomical estimates, not a view of today’s sky. Buildings, trees and the shape of a hill can hide the sun earlier.
Cloud guidance uses the existing city forecast, only when it was retrieved within an hour. It follows the selected morning or evening golden-hour window and shows the forecast’s age. It is not a guarantee of colour or a live camera view.

Calculation & data
SunCalc 2.0.1 calculates the solar positions on your device at public city/viewpoint coordinates. Your own location is not needed. Purple rays are published cardinal directions, not a measured horizon. São Pedro de Alcântara faces east: its evening appeal is light on the opposite castle hill, not a westward sunset.
Published panorama directions and light ideas: Julia & Anatoly Motoryha’s photography guide and Turismo de Lisboa’s viewpoint descriptions, linked on each card. The photography guide’s overview groups São Pedro with west-facing stops; its detailed entry and the opposite-hill landmarks identify an east-facing panorama. We use that detailed direction.
Forecast: weather data and licence. Public coordinates: existing reviewed OpenStreetMap references and Turismo de Lisboa’s Monte Agudo listing. Elevations are modelled surface heights, not a survey, and are not used to promise a visible sunset.
