nice to meet you

A Lisbon guide, with names behind it.

A table worth making time for, a walk you can change halfway through, and the practical answers that make a day easier. That’s what we want this guide to do.

In short

Lisbonline is created and edited by Umur, with personal place recommendations from friends and locals. Onur shares some of those picks; Umut, a WSET-trained wine enthusiast, selects the natural wine bars. Named favourites come from the people who chose them, while practical venue and programme details stay linked to their sources. We distinguish checked details from unknowns, keep bookings with their operators, and welcome corrections.

A favourite is personal. A listing is not a visit.

Names mean something

“Umur’s favourite”, “Onur’s pick” and “Umut’s wine picks” identify that person’s recommendation. We don’t add a name to a place just because it looks good online.

Useful checks, not false certainty

Alongside people’s recommendations, venue and organiser information helps with the practical parts of a day. Names stay attached to the people behind the picks; published details stay linked to their sources.

Plans with room to change

Event times come from published programmes. Choose an actual session from the festival’s programme, rather than relying on its overall date range. Where a time, price or access detail is unknown, we say so rather than fill in a guess.

Our guide, with the connections in view

Umur created Lisbonline from the recommendations he shared with guests. It grew into a city guide for anyone who wants a better Lisbon day. Our accommodation has its own Stay page; the city guide stands on its own.

Booking and payments happen with the venue, ticket operator or Airbnb, not here. Read why this website exists, or see how the project is supported.

Help us keep the details useful

A closed door, a new address, a recommendation you think we missed? Tell us what changed. A correction is more useful with the venue name and a current official page. Please keep reservation details and entry instructions in Airbnb.

Quick answers

Whose recommendations are these?

The guide brings together Umur’s favourites and recommendations from friends and locals. Named favourites identify the person behind the pick. Practical transport, venue and programme details come from their published sources.

Can a business buy a recommendation?

Payment does not buy a personal favourite or change the order of our editorial picks. Any paid placement will be labelled separately.

Where are the photo credits?

Photographers, sources and reuse details are in our photo credits. We do not present archive or context images as a recent visit.
