Lisbon news archive

The Lisbon news archive keeps earlier city updates with their original dates, so you can follow how a route, place or service changed. Browse by month or topic and open the stories that matter to your plans. For a trip today, check the latest arrangements rather than treating an old fare or announcement as current.

Airport taxi vouchers: know the price before you ride

Added 18 Oct 2026

A fixed-price airport taxi voucher covers luggage, with fares set by destination zone, time and vehicle size. For up to four passengers, the published weekday daytime prices are €16 or €19. The Ask Me Lisboa desk sells vouchers between 07:00 and 22:00.

If you’re here: Confirm the destination, total and voucher conditions before paying; don’t assume every airport taxi uses the same arrangement.

Carris added 29 electric buses to its Lisbon fleet

Added 21 Oct 2026

A government update published on 8 September said Carris had received 29 fully electric buses the previous day, taking its electric fleet to 103 vehicles. Seventy-eight of those buses were acquired with recovery-plan funding. The notice records a fleet expansion, but does not specify routes or guarantee more frequent services.

If you’re here: Check live Carris information for your route; the fleet announcement does not assign the new buses to particular services.
