Uma Coleção a Dois Tempos — MACAM’s Permanent Exhibition

MACAM

MACAM’s permanent display follows the two phases of Armando Martins’s collecting. Gallery 1 traces Portuguese art from the late nineteenth century into modernism; Gallery 2 brings Portuguese and international contemporary work into dialogue through painting, photography, video and installation. The exhibition occupies Galleries 1 and 2; a chapel visit is not included in this ticket.

Peso-Contra-Peso — Three-Dimensional Works from the MACAM Collection

MACAM

Sculpture and installation from MACAM’s collection examine balance, resistance and the ways materials occupy space. Organised around nature and abstraction, scale and resistance, and cities and urbanism, Weight-Counter-Weight connects physical forces with questions about architecture and collective life. The exhibition is presented in Gallery 3, with works by Portuguese and international artists.
