Sintra-Cascais Natural Park
Wooded hills, Atlantic cliffs or Guincho dunes: choose one landscape for the day.

Sintra’s hilltop wall walk, with views towards Pena and the Atlantic.
Castelo dos Mouros is Sintra’s hilltop fortification, with a wall walk looking across the town towards Pena and the Atlantic. Choose it for ramparts and views rather than palace rooms. Give the approach its own time, wear shoes with grip and check the weather before committing to an exposed outdoor visit.
Before you go
Choose the wall walk for the view across Sintra towards Pena and the Atlantic, rather than another sequence of palace rooms. Keep shoes with grip and some room for the weather in your plan. The hilltop approach and the castle itself are separate parts of the outing.
Ordinary adult 18–64 castle admission. Youth, senior and family tickets differ. The staffed ticket office closes 12:00–13:00; automatic machines remain available.
Private-car access to the monument is not authorised. The approach, paths and wall walk have different access conditions; do not assume all ramparts are step-free.
